In all your life, have you ever seen an adorable but stray kitten wandering around – homeless and helpless? What did you do after that? Did you pick up that cute kitten to take home with you or did you look the other way and pretend that you didn’t see it?
It is a fact that a lot of people who love pets can only manage to care for a handful of them. No matter how much a person would like to take in stray pets, it is impossible to give every one of them attention, love and care that they need if there are, for example, more than 8 of them in a household.
I remember the time back in 1994 (I was only 10 years old) when I first found a stray tabby kitten at the back of the house that we have just moved in to. Seeing that I wanted to have a pet of my own, my mom let me take care of it. Fast forward to this day, I have a family of my own now, but still my love for cats never faded. Along with my husband and my 2-month-old son, we have 6 cats and 2 dogs that live with us at home (Hey, I love dogs too!
).
As you know, when I publish a cat-related post, it’s laid out in trivia form (with funny pictures). But this time, let’s give way to Greeting Card Universe’s Save-A-Cat campaign which aims to help out the US Humane Society, the largest and most effective animal protection organization in the United States.
Does your heart have room enough for a homeless kitty to squeeze in? If so, how can you help out? Kindly visit Greeting Card Universe’s website and buy one or more Cat Greeting Cards from them. All the profits made there will be donated to the US Humane Society to help them take good care of homeless pets.
Below are some of their greeting cards that I really love in their site (because I find them funny) :
Aside from the greeting cards above, they also offer greeting cards that fit any occasion – Christmas, birthdays, weddings, or any event you can think of.
The Holidays are coming, so why not send a cat-themed greeting card to a loved one? You also get to help a homeless cat/kitten in need if you do.
Greeting Card Universe’s Save-A-Cat Program will run until at least 2013, which is when they will make a bulk donation for all sales generated from participating websites (which you can identify that they are genuinely helping out once you see them bearing the Greeting Card Universe badge – mine is on the right side of this page).
Note: This post was made for the purpose of letting my readers know about Greeting Card Universe’s campaign to help the US Humane Society and I will not get any money from this (Like you, I’m also trying to help out). If you buy greeting cards here, 100% of your purchases will be donated directly to the Humane Society to help out shelter pets that are in dire need of a loving and forever home.
If you have questions about the Save-A-Cat Campaign, please write them on the comment box.
Or if you would just like to say something about this post, you’re welcome to do so as well.
Please share this post to your friends (especially cat lovers) to let them know about the Save-A-Cat campaign – the FB and Twitter share buttons are just directly below).
Thank you very much for stopping by!

Hi Johanna,
I just came across this page Via Facebook and wanted to help with the Save-A-Cat Campaign and buy some Cat Cards.
The thing I was wondering was if the Cat cards come in an assortment of different occasions or do I have to buy them individually.
Thanks! – The Saving all the Strays Cat Lady
Hi Sassysuzzi,

I think they are usually bought individually, but you can ask them in their website if they have a bundle for different occasions. Please just browse there and you will see a contact form. Thank you for your interest in participating in the Save-A-Cat campaign!
Hope this helps, and thanks for commenting!

Suzzi, as long as you click through the Save-A-Cat badge, all cards you buy will qualify for the profits to charity promotion. GCU has thousands of cat cards in dozens of categories… All specific to cats! Johanna, thanks again for participating in the program and for putting together this post!!!
Hi Lily,

You’re welcome! I sure hope this small post would be okay enough to let my valued readers know about the Save-A-Cat campaign and convince them to help by buying some cat-themed greeting cards on the Greeting Card Universe site.

Good thing there are people like them (at Greetingcarduniverse.com) who are willing to save and give shelter for homeless cats. Cats are very important in our world too, just like dogs. They have their purpose, and it is very saddening when there are some cats or kittens and even other animals that are being neglected and badly treated by some heartless people.
I pray those who are going to help them out by buying cat-inspired greeting cards from their site become more blessed in the years to come as their reward for being generous to others. Shared your post in my Facebook wall. Hope it helps out!

In my opinion, charities are one of the best ways that folks can show that they care about others, whether they may be other people or animals who are in dire need.
I admire other people who try to help and donate to charities even if they themselves have little money with them for their daily use.
What a clever way for the Greetingcarduniverse.com to help out the shelter cats with their campaign. I pray that a lot of people will buy cat-themed greeting cards from them. Good thing that the Christmas and New Year season is fast approaching.

Hi Johanna,
I have never commented on blogs before, but this article of yours really made me leave one for the first time. I am glad to have read your post and I support this Save-A-Cat campaign. I have shared it to my Facebook friends already, and I hope some of them would be kind enough to help out by buying a cat-themed greeting card.
I hope their campaign will still continue on and reach out to other animal shelters as well.
All the best in their campaign and I wish you all the best in your blog too!
Have a pleasant day to you – Shia
Those are cute greeting cards, and for a very good cause too. There are way too many cats (and dogs) without homes around the country.

After my wife and I got married, a kitten came up to our house one day looking like he needed a place to stay. We had him for almost a year before we figured out it wasn’t a “him”, after all. The 5 kittens helped us figure that one out.
Here name was Kisa. She died a couple years ago shortly before her daughter, Tabby, died. Kisa died by being run over by a neighbor’s car. Tabby died under mysterious circumstances.
We now have two new cats, Dinero and Onyx, which we adopted from a local cat shelter. We got them when they were about 6 weeks old. We had a great experience getting our cats from the cat shelter.
In my country cats are less preferred than dogs. there are places for shelter and protection for dogs but none for the cats.
When I first saw the photo of a a stray cat it makes me feel sad
, thinks of being just like them, what they need is to be cared and to be loved same as humans , i ts a good thing that there still people like you Johanna. Thumbs up for you, i hope all are like you. Lets all save an animals.
Does anyone know if the homeless kitten was rescued? Just wondering. Pictures like this break my heart.
